Dr. Jolyn Wei graduated from UCLA in 2001 with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics with a minor in Neuroscience. Initially a studio Art/Cello Performance double major, Dr. Wei discovered the wonder of science, and had maintained that curiosity ever since.
After graduating from UCLA, she worked in the UCLA Medical Center cancer research lab. This drive compelled Dr. Wei to pursue a career in optometry, and she eventually graduated summa cum laude from Illinois College of Optometry in 2008 as the salutatorian of her class. During her last year of Externship, Dr. Wei noticed how much fun she was having during her pediatric rotation, and throughly enjoyed making a lifelong impact for children by improving their vision. Upon graduating from Optometry school, Dr. Wei continued her education with a Residency in Pediatric Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in 2009.
Since then, Dr. Wei has participated in research projects at the University of Southern California, Served as an in house Optometrist at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, and obtained her fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry. She has published papers as well as presented lectures in various topics throughout her career.
